  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
52' CONVERTIBLE (1983 - 1990)
Looking to make a change, the vacuum flush i have now is pretty much a circle bowl. Need a little more room for the upfront "equipment" to increase the comfort level. Probably have to order on-line so can't view/test fit :cool:beforehand. I see a few different model numbers but looking for recommendations. thanks

Elongated heads are more comfortable. I have recently installed two new Raritans on my 53, replacing standard VF. One is the standard elegance with an 18 3/8 length. Close to the VF i had. It s a bit small but a longer head would have been an issue in the new forward guest head. For the master where length isn’t a concern i got an Atlantes with the 21” elongated bowl. Much better.

Not sure what size the elongated VFa are but if 20/21” it makes a big difference

Now, it won’t be an issue with the VF, with the Atlantes uses significantly more water in the Elongated version.

Finally if anyone is considering user elongated Atlantes, I was told by Defender that the molds for the elongated models have been accidentally destroyed and Raritan doesn’t know when or if they ll be available. Interestingly the Atlantes bowl I received was stamped made in Vietnam, July 2011

I have some in almond. Not white. Elongated and can be configured forn12 orn24 volt operation. I also sent David Wigler some 32 volt converters for his.

Where are your measuring points from? The bowl itself is 13 1/4 f/b and 11 1/2 side to side.

Using the drawings from Raritan. Measured from the back to the front, I guess LOA :)

What? We've had this VF vs Raritan head debate for years on this forum. Pascal was always on the pro-VF side of the argument. Now it looks like he's gone over to the Darkside :)

Yes I have.

Rebuilding a VF is about the cost of an elegance or Atlantes. 20 Years ago, when electric heads where pretty “crappy”, VF where far superior. Nowadays not so much. That said as much as I like the elongated Atlantes, it uses at least twice as much water.
