Let me disagree on the need to carry spares. There are a set of rules that come with every boat that are undeniable truths:
Boat engines only require unplanned service the day before or on holiday weekends.
Boat engines only require unplanned service went at least 50 miles away from a parts location that has the parts you need, and they are closing in the next half hour.
Having a part onboard almost guarantees you will never need it. And if you know how to replace the part and set it up, that guarantee goes to 100%.
Thus I recommend carrying all the hard to replace engine parts, learn how to install them if possible, and enjoy cruising.
But, just in case, if you do have a problem, a Detroit mechanic is usually available anytime for a price, and being able to say to him, OH I HAVE ONE OF THEM, can be a great stress reliever.
And as far as what injectors your engines have, you must pull a rocker arm cover and look at what identification is on the injectors. Any thing less is a waste of time.
