Anyone on the HOF have access to information (i.e. sales price) on 53-58 ft Hatts actually sold in 2013? Obviously, the advertised price posted on Yachtworld, etc. may be significantly different that the final sale agreement. I'm prepping for a small battle with the city over property tax assessment for 2014.

Unfortunately, boats that are sold are not reported accurately by brokers. Additionally, as you know there are sales by owners and that is another ball game.

However, if you have a working relationship with a broker he or she can look up Boat Wizard at the Yachtworld site. Brokers have access to the site. Although not extremely reliable it can be useful. Also Denison Yachts publish a report of boat sold from time to time.

Good luck

Jose, good information. Thanks for the advice.

Work with a local broker to get what you need. Im sure they're familiar with the situation.

FWIW I just paid sales tax on a whaler I gave my son. Being a broker and having a company with a resale certificate does not excuse me from paying taxes. Be careful what you ask for......

IIRC There should not be sales tax on a transfer to a family member.

Michael, PM your email address to me. I will run the soldboats report and pdf it to you.

I didnt own it before. I had to buy it to give it to him.

The point is I didn't lie cheat or ship it to another state to avoid the sales tax. Can our secretary of state say that?
