Have any of you guys used this stuff?

It has been recommended to me by Sam's as the stain that was originally used on my boat at the factory.

Any suggestions on it's use?

I did not know that Imron made stain. Are you talking about exterior paint or interior wood stain?

Yup, interior wood stain, according to Sam's...

It's made by DuPont, 704C and 7600C. I have used 704C on gun stocks, it's extremely durable. Thought it was rather expensive for use on large projects though, have not purchased any in quite a while.

Any application tips?

Preparation was the key as with most surfaces, I remember progressively using finer grits wiping stock with acetone or similar then frequent tack clothing prior to application, light sanding in between coats, multiple thin coats applied with boars hair brushes I believe.

Yep, Sam's claims that was the original base coat on the interior afromosia panelling. I think you're confusing some folks by calling it "Imron" 704c, though ... of course, Imron is made by DuPont, too, but it's DuPont that makes the stuff.

The same source at Sam's told me they followed up the 704c with Watkins Teak Oil.
