Had an earthquake about 30 minutes ago. Pilings dancing all around. Pretty cool.

I'm thinking of commissioning some T-shirts saying "I survived the Piney Narrows Quake." Probably make a ton of money off the marina folks. ;)

We felt it here in central NC too. Give me sizes and quantities on the tees.

Lets see if you survive Irene looks like its headed your way.

Yup felt it pretty good here in Long Island.

Now watching Irene

Here at BYC, the pier was banging into my hull for thirty seconds or so.

My yard hauled Kismet right before the quake started in Deltaville.
Apparently, there were a few tense moments and the crew was more than a little nervous about putting her down on the stands and removing the straps!

Supposedly evacuated from 20th St down here in NYC. Sporadic temporary evacs of buildings in Midtown. Reminded me of 2003 blackout - that was a fun 24 hours. Wonder if any coorelation to that big quake they just had in Colorado?

Mike,
Any damage down there? The first true test of G Dock I guess...

No damage at all. The G dock roof didn't appear to move at all. But the dock pilings are not quite up to the standards of the roof pilings...

Jim Rosenthal and I were having lunch in my conference room. When the building shook the first time, we wondered "what the hell was THAT?" When it shook the second time, we got the heck out of the building. It was all quite surreal.

Jeff, Did you haul for the hurricane, the bow thruster install, or both?

Evidently the quake ocurred at a little known fault line just outside Washington D. C. called "Bush's Fault."

Am sure there will be a statement put out by the White House that it was Bush's fault...

I would argue that DC is a fault and should one day just drop into the earths crust leaving the country in better shape than before.
