The 72 foot Tiffany Convertible in the slip behind me is powered by a pair of 24v71's. Very cool engine room ....more chrome than a Harley. I think they burn something like 140 gallons per hour at 23 knots cruise and they sound incredible.
Ridiculous, but a lot of fun nonetheless. MTU has been making marine diesels with that kind of hp for a long time, so does Caterpillar, I think. OF course they don't have all that chrome, and no nitrous.
Why would nitrous add power- does it allow you to richen up the fuel supply even more? Explanation appreciated.
