Hatteras Model
53' CONVERTIBLE (1969 - 1980)
I am soooo tired of cold and snow! Finished my last winter project on the boat today and I am ready to launch, however the lakes are not ready! I want 80* day and warm water to take the grand kids tubing behind "papas" big boat! It's been a long, cold and miserable winter!

Well...it was 80° here today, and the day before, and .... Oh, sorry. Forgive me, but this the season where we South Floridians get to gloat. It won't be long before we'll be bitching about how hot it is. :D

I've had enough too. I'm heading to Florida to do some boating next week. And my up north boat projects are not complete yet. No matter. I'm outta here.

I'm headed back to FLL tomorrow night for 10 days. I'm sure hoping that the weather in Md. is better when I return.

Eric, if you get down to Miami, call me (PM me for that) and check out my new galley! It's sweet enough that folks keep saying, "Why didn't Hatteras make it like this in the first place?" LOL David Wigler understands...he did nearly the same thing.

Hey Sky and Sea Eric, make sure you stop by for a cocktail on PIZZAZ while you're in the neighborhood. "Happy Hour" starts at 9:30!

Hey Chris, in the picture, are those kids playing on rafts or ice floes? If you're lucky this year, the water might be warm enough to swim in by Labor Day!

And Angela...we shouldn't be bragging too much about the perfection of South Florida Spring Weather. Some people might take it as gloating. Sure it's 82 degrees this afternoon, but it's cloudy and breezy with 30mph wind gusts! And... another nasty winter cold front is pushing through the state right now. It could get down to 65 tonight! Tomorrow's high is only expected to reach 78!

The weather down here isn't perfect EVERY DAY. I've got to dig out my sweater again!

I hear ya Pizzaz. I saw the forecast which said 59° for a low in one of the upcoming days. Damn....and I just packed away my leather jacket in a spacebag, but I'm not showing a high any less than 81° all the way down here. :) Washing the boat in this wind is a bit challenging and it's like a mini windstorm running through the boat since all the doors and windows are open The wind dictated that I had to deflate Happy Island which has spent the past month or so tethered to the swim platform. Happy Island...a place for the Mermaids to sun and sip champagne during the winter months.

OK...we better quit this - Mother Nature has a way of getting even with us come late Summer and through the Fall.

Ok the weather just said it's supposed to be low 60's here Monday! I not sure but I think that's the first time it will hit 60 since October. You guys are welcome to come up here this summer when it's 100 with 100% humidity down there and one of those named storms is on the horizon! (Still jealous though)

Thanks Angela. People just don't seem to realize how critical wardrobe choices rule our lives in this weather!

And actually Chris, those of us who are blessed to live in Southeast Florida, (Palm Beach to Miami), enjoy the nicest "Summer Climate" in ALL of Florida. Maybe the entire U.S. Our proximity to the Gulfstream provides a consistent afternoon sea breeze that seldom forces the temperature above 90. That same Gulfstream influence keeps the southeast coast slightly warmer in Winter. I've been up north when it was 100 degrees with 100% humidity, and I couldn't wait to get back home.

Apparently the weather was a little rough in South Florida yesterday afternoon/evening. My flight for 9PM last evening ended up getting cancelled at 1AM. Huge PIA. I'm trying again to fly to FL this afternoon.
