I can't believe the CRAP that ends up as "news"

There's some "news" that the star, Betelgeuse, could explode and give us a "second sun" for a few weeks this year. Sounds pretty exciting! Well, except the part, later in the article, stating that it could happen as soon as this year or anytime within the next MILLION years.

I don't understand how 90+ percent of "news" ends up being "news" in the first place. Oh well...

In the arch of history in the universe, a million years is a mere blip. About as good an estimate range as you're gonna get for a lot of stuff. You know, like when I will dock my boat perfectly in wind and current every time.

And on tonight's 11 o'clock CBS (one of the better ones!) news, one of the main headlines is the $300,000 Porche 28' boat....now at Miami Beach Marina..."extremely light weight....very fast.....need for speed....$2,500 for a half day plus gas...." Good grief! I guess nobody important was killed, robbed, raped, or mugged this evening, so a Porche boat offered for charter is the headline. Ugh....

If they report anything good it ends up being an invasion of privacy or to controversial. Our local station has 7 out of 30 minutes of actual news at noon and the rest is either health or money issues and advertisements.

Slow news in Guam...it's pretty bad when they report on testing projects I'm doing. By the way, I pretty much wrote the press release LOL warning in case the power goes out.
