Ok, so I did a search in the forum for Nitrogen, looking to see if anyone has asked the following question and I did find one post about a year or so ago that did…..but no one answered it and it just moved down the list until it was lost / forgotten.

Well, I am going to ask the question again, hoping that in the collective knowledge base this forum has someone that has had some experience with /investigative knowledge of / or opinion (educated or not) about adding nitrogen to supplement fuel mileage, get a cleaner engine/burn, and additional horsepower at a lower rpm setting (well that’s what the links /articles state).

Now I know there’s no free lunch but if this is a viable alternative to increased mileage / decrease fuel costs when fuel prices hit whatever the threshold magic dollar amount is, it may come into its own.

So, see the attached links and tell me if I’m wasting my time, I’m a big boy I can take it.

Oh, and just to state my position, I’m all for reducing pollution and such but not at the cost of more Government regulations and/or infringement of our personal freedom. Burning fuel “cleaner” is smarter, but my main motivation about bring up this subject is for monetary reasons only.

Sorry, but no, that won't work. :)

Well, it will work to make your pocketbook lighter ;)

Unfortunately, the gov't mucks markets up with selective subsidies that aren't enumerated in the Constitution, making it very difficult to determine what the real market price is per BTU for energy. But in the current market, hydrogen is expensive stuff to make and use. And since diesels can run on veggie oil and other stuff that's relatively cheap to make and use, I think it would take a huge (an hugely irrational) investment by gov't before hydrogen was competitive.

just my $0.02

O well, doesn't hurt to ask, kinda figured it would turn out to be a dud.

Thanks,
