Hull Zincs 1987 40DC

My new to me 1987 40DC has no hull zincs on the transom, nor do I see a place for them.
Anyone know if these are not used on this boat or if I am missing something?
It does have rudder zincs, prop shaft zincs, trim tab zincs, and strainer zincs which all seem to be working just fine.

On my boat, 1989 40 DC, zink's are only placed on metal below the waterline ( drive shafts, rudders, and trim tabs) and on engine water systems ( transmission cooler, heat exchanger). Since the boat is fiberglass there is no need for sacrificial anodes on the hull itself. Hatteras boats also have grounding strips / wires connected to all metal parts that are in the engine room or for through-hull systems (like rudder posts, water intake valves, etc.).

Thanks, that's what I figured. I just keep seeing them on so many fiberglass boats at the yard It got me wondering.

I think those plates are attached to all the other bonding if the boat, getting rid of the need to place the zinc on the rudder. It seems easy to replace the zinc on the transom as it wears than those on the rudder.

On our 1987 45C, it does have that transom zinc you mention. It is through bolted and has studs on the inside to connect it with the bonding system.

However, I think it was added during the life of the boat, since we've never seen another Hatteras that has it. My family used to have a 1987 63 CPMY and it did not have this zinc.
