ASSuming a 39' LWL, should be 8.0 to 8.1 kts

1200 rpms 8kts all day long. When ya coming home? The invite is still valid.

The formula... if memory serves is:

Hull speed = 1.34 X the square root of LWL.

So for a 39' water line it is 8.37 knots... because you would really notice the .37 knots :)

If you love details, and have an iPad or iPhone, buy an app called "Boating Calcs", it has displacement and planing speed calculators which will tell you hp needed based upon LWL , displacement, and speed. According most of the listings for 43DC's the LWL is 37'9".

Generally, at displacement speeds, the faster you go, the lower your mpg. When you go above hull speed, your mpg drops at a faster rate. This is not rocket science.

Have fun
