where is the hull drain plug on a 79 46 ft conv. some say it is in the forward hatch under the vberth. i do have some sort of T handle there in between my head ball valves. i looked in the rear of the boat and did not see any type of pipe thread fittings underneath the boat. any ideas thanks

most boats our size dont have an aft drain plug. On my 43 the only one is that one in the bow.

On my 1979 46 conv there also was a t handle drain in fwd bilge. That was the only hull drain on the vessel.

That should be it, the T handle. You should also be able to see it on the outside etc. It if hasn't been out in a while, it may require Blaster or something similar to free it up.

I also agree it's the T handle that is your drain. I can't see the reason having it either forward or so high up in the bilge. I generally keep my boat out on blocks when not using it and it used to collect a fair amount of rainwater in the bilges so I removed one of the unused transducer/paddlewheels from the bilge and put a 3/4" npt drain plug in its place. This was just between the engines. It works well for me but would of course be of little use if the boat was kept afloat.
