Well, its been a year since buying a used Marquipt Boarding ladder from eBay and installing it. (The USCG calls it a "brow", at least on the cutters).
Bought mounting brackets from them (Marquipt), plus a handrail. Now that the water on the GL's are up 18"'s, it is a godsend, as getting aboard is no longer a step across, but a big step up. My 93yoa father and 86yoa mother could not get aboard without it. Its convenient with the handrail.
It appears that there are two sets of mounting holes in the ladder. One set at the very end, cause it to lay flat, and another set about 2"'s inset from the end, force the ladder steps to expose/stand out. Anyone have ideas on that? I'll let you know.
Had a little welding done on it over the winter and burned a couple of the non-skid treads; plus a couple were nicked or worn. But we bought a roll of adhesive backed non-skid and cut strips to length and the width was perfect. Can't tell where the new strips are installed.
My report...
P.s., some HOF members asked for pictures of how the mounting brackets are installed, but both my brand new digital cameras are on the fritz...modern times...junk.
