How's the damage now... 2 weeks later from Sandy

Have seen a lot of news updates... Know it's BAD...
But how's the area around where those of you live up there doing now 2 weeks later?

Completely recovered by me on Long Island... with the exception of a few agencies trying desperately to prolong the drama. Gas lines lessening but still annoying.

Others are not so lucky in villages like Lindenhurst. My home out on the barrier beach was untouched so I really dodged a few bullets both boat and beach house wise.

Just got power at the house late Sunday night. Still have lots of big trees down that need to be removed. Boat is fine but we don't have power down there yet and the club house needs to be rehabed. Still restricted access to much of the area around us but we're trying to get things back to normal. There's a draw bridge that I need opened to get out. There's limited operation and they're restricting recreational openings. I wouldn't dare go out right now as there are a lot of sunken boats and debris all over the place. I'm sure the channel is very different from what it was. Will be an interesting spring and summer at the Jersey Shore.
