  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I have DD 671Ns and need to replace the raw water and coolent hoses. Several of these hoses have bends in them so I suppose I will need exact replacments. Anyone suggest a good source to contact?

We bought ours from DD. They know exactly which sizes you need and on ours, it took about five different size hoses which wasn't apparent by just looking at it. We bought them in 2' lengths and have plenty to do both engines with some leftover for spares. You can get the hoses in bulk length and cut it yourself, or you can by a pre-cut kit which will contain all of the replacement hoses for your specific engines. West Marine also had some of the hoses, but not all of the sizes we needed. Because we had to remove some parts to get the hoses on and off, we had to get some extra gaskets from DD, as well. We just bought all that we needed at DD because we could get everything we needed (gaskets too) in one stop. Be sure to look at whether you will need gaskets so you can determine whether you have to remove a metal part just to be able to wrestle a hose off or gain access to it. We had to remove the side pieces of the heat exchanger/radiator component.

I replaced all the raw and fresh water engines hoses on our 671 TIs in 2004. I used silicone for both the raw and fresh water side. Most of the hoses were 2" dia and straight lengths. The hoses to and from the fuel cooler had 90 degree bends and I was able to pick up the hoses up from the local auto distributor (NAPA?). I think the fuel cooler hoses were 1 " dia. I have Johnson & Towers (J&T)conversions and J&T can provide the hoses with bends if necessary. I also bought the short water hose on the exhaust manifold to the block from J&T (in silicone).

As if you need more work....while I was replacing hoses on Sanctuary, it offered a great time to take the bits that had to be removed out, wire brush them with a drill to clean them up and give them a fresh coat of paint.
