  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
We installed the aft section of the swim platform yesterday and went for an island trip. The platform worked fine and looks pretty good.

Vincent, nice job!! It looks great! It is a project I have thought about for years but still unsure about how best to expand my platform. Your idea and end result is motivating! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the pics!

Thanks,
You might like to see the platform closed for running.
Let me know if you are interested in the design details.

Very Cool Vincent! I must confess, thought it was going to come out looking a little cheesy when you first made mention of what you were doing in other thread. However, you did a first class job (the way only a Hatteras Owner could and should) and it really looks Great, especially folder up - I thought that would be the aesthetic killer.

I put my stock swim platform back on my 43DC yesterday - had a bunch of rotten core in it from previous owner backing into something I had to dig out. Also installed St Croix dinghy davits. After I get KIWI paint on it in next week or two I'll put a picture on as well under the 43DC dinghy davit thread.

Have to ask - Regarding first picture posted, what is that substantial looking hook thingy coming out transom door for?

Very nice piece of work, well done.

Very classy. Looks better than the original ladder and platform.

Thanks,
Regarding the thingy coming out of the transom door, do you mean "Lady" my daughter's cavalier spaniel or the white painted 3/4" plywood bracket which I epoxied together to form an attachment for the ladder?

The plywood is an "L" bracket screwed to the deck which extends out and the ladder is attached to it with 3/8" bolts allowing the ladder to swing in next to the transom to provide clearance for the platform to close and out to make climing the ladder easier.

Just noticed the Pooch! Everything looks very well thought out. You must have a great garage/shop as your work looks millwork quality - very professional.

Saw this extended platfrom on a 53MY. I'd like to do this too a sit makes a nice "lower level" for a motor yacht.
