I am restoring a 1964 41' DCMY, and need to replace some of the stantion bases (forward) for the life line stantions. These were used on several of the early Hatteras boats, but I have had no luck in finding any replacements. All suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ken

stanchion bases

Uh oh. These are hard to find, if they are the same thing I am thinking of. They are not made anymore. You might try Tom Slane, or any of the Florida companies that build bow rails. They might have old ones around that were taken off a boat when the rails were updated. If you clean them up, rechrome them, and drill out the setscrew holes for larger (3/16 or 1/4) setscrews, they will last you a while. I did this a few years ago, and, so far, so good.

Stantion bases

Jim, Thanks for the reply and suggestions with regards to the stantion bases. So far no luck but one would think there are some out there in somebody's back shop from a destroyed boat or a rebuild, etc. Thanks again. Ken
