  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
FLORIDA NICE SLIP NEEDED ASAP ; We just bought a 42 foot Hatteras long range cruiser. We’re looking for a slip at a friendly marina that has some amenities, like a pool. We’re planning to do a series of shakedown cruises along the coast before we head to the Bahamas in December. 14.5 foot beam a 4 foot draft. Hooding for 1 hour drive to international airport, we live in Indiana. I’ve been told prices drop drastically north of Palm Coast. So we are certainly open to that.

I second Brunswick. 1 hour drive from JAX airport.

make sure you read through your contract wherever you end up. Marinas north of Canaveral are charging a 20-30% "fee" just for having contractors in the yard, even maintenance items like a diver are hit with it.

Few things to be aware of, between St. Aug and Daytona Palm Coast marina is the only diesel/gas offering. Slip prices are very reasonable in Palm Coast due to the fact you're an hour either direction to an inlet. It is VERY difficult to get into the nicer marinas, we waited 7 months to get into Camachee in St Aug so you may have to settle until you can find the right home

Thank you so much for the advice about checking and reading all of the pine print on the contract. I will definitely do that. I am a 10 on the handy scale and intend to do the majority of the work myself. I would not be very happy to be charged for parts. I’m carrying onto my own boat or being charged to hire a professional to come give me some advice.

Why not look at Safe Harbour Harbourage in Stuart? It has a pool and is centrally located and 45 minutes from PBI or 90 minutes from FLL.

Just anchor out full time like the blowboaters do? Be sure to help yourself to the marina toilet paper rolls too.

Whatever you do do not go to Kennedy Point Marina near Titisville. Worst marina I have ever been in. No protection from ICW wakes and wind waves. It was so bad we gave up a $2000.00 deposit so we could get out of there.

Rays53, Congrats on the new home. Can't help with E Coast of FL as we're on the SW side, but good luck finding a reasonable spot over there.

Brunswick or north will save on insurance. Agree that Brunswick landing is a great option. Several Hatts on the docks. Decent jet service.
