Any recommendations for replacing the galley maid heads will be greatly appreciated

I like the vacuflush in mine pretty well.

Tecma (thetford) has worked well. Will grind up everything including tampons.

My recommendation is to carefully evaluate that decision. What is it you expect to gain from replacing them?

Not to say that the GMs don't have their bad points but they also have their good points. The primary good point is that they are already there! A secondary good point is that they will accept waste that a lot of heads will not. Plus everything about the head pump is easily rebuildable. The only bad point about them to me is that they are noisy. But I periodically consider replacing them for that reason. Oddly enough, the Admiral is the one who always says, "They work great, leave them alone!"

I am with Mike on this one. When we first got our boat that was close to the top of the list. I rebuilt mine and other than the noisy part I like them.

Vacuu flush with fresh water. The holding tank goes a long way between pump outs.

Very pleased with Raritan Elegance. Quiet, looks good and is reliable. Defender seems to have the best prices.

Search for "Recommendations for Galley Maid head replacement" and find a thread which *exhaustively* covers options with 4,700 views to date.

My vacuflush system is around 26 years old. I can't complain. We always use the marina facilities whenever possible for the smelly stuff.
