head reccomendations

next project on my 42C is to replace or rebuild the raritan head. Works fine now but needs a bearing in the motor.. A couple of friends have the vacu flush systems and tell me they are great. I would appreciate any advice from the group on what they general opinion is on the best new head systems available. Has anyone installed the vacuum flush system that might offer any tips ?

I was looking to upgrade my system, I have a 45C with vacuflush and it works great but it came with the boat. If you review some of the previous threads on Heads, discharge and tanks there is much information on making a decision. Look a Genesis's threads he has given me much needed information. my 53 was upgraded to VFs about 8 years ago and i don't think i'd have anything else. i also had a VF on my previous boat for about 6 years.

They are esentially troublefree even though the one installed in the aft head was installed in violation of jsut about every rule...

the pumps seem nearly bullet proof and after all these years, all I've had to replace so far is a set of duckbill and one pressure switch.

Has anyone used one of the new Tecma heads, which are in a lot of ads? I have not seen one yet and don't know anyone that owns one. I am thinking about upgrading the head and bathroom over the winter.

I also am curious about the Tecma heads but have no 1st hand knowledge. The vacuflush sytems is great. If you plan on installing it yourself, the biggest problem is finding someone to sell the system to you. Sealand sells vacuflush only through dealer, installers. I have a friend who can sell the system direct to a DIYer if you are interested.
