  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series II (1986 - 1991)
I called Sam's to see if they knew where I could find replacement headliner material for our 1991 41c. They do not sell it, but told me that it came from Rockland Mills in Baltimore. Has anyone had any luck with replacement material?
Thank you
Steve

Just did ours with a solid vinyl material that is used in the auto industry. We are very happy with it, however it was tough to stretch and get all the wrinkles out. Ought it from Keystone in San Diego, I know they have multiple locations but maybe only on the west coast.

I tried to find a rockland mills website but no joy. I did see an article stating that rockland mills and its parent company are doa. When I went on Miami corp which was the best source for foam backed perforated vinyl headliner, they have discontinued the product. Perhaps rock land was the supplier to Miami? I do recall Miami corp telling me a few years back that the stuff just didn’t sell anymore. If you find a source let us know. Miami corp does have many many alternatives and I believe there was a perforated material in the discontinued website section but not the good stuff. https://www.fabricsandfurnishings.c...ews/Rockland-Mills-Exhausts-Bidders-List.html

Unless it's physically damaged somehow, water and dirt stains on the headliner clean up perfectly with a magic eraser and some 409. I wouldn't be so quick to replace unless somebody tore a hole in it or something. My cleaning lady that does the boat interior used a "mr. clean magic eraser" on part of the headliner and I was floored, I didn't realize it was actually white not grey. At that point I had her spend a week doing the rest of it, and now it looks brand new.

thank you - yes, I saw all of this too. Bummer. In a perfect world, I would find a bit that would work in a couple of spots where I need it. thanks

thank you! great points. we have a situation where most of the headliner looks new (could probably be cleaned up like you say... I will try that)... however, the valences on the sides above the windows are missing the material... so I need a replacement for those spots... the upholstery guy I am using does not have anything that matches the main existing stuff... I'll keep looking - thank you for your detailed advice... I am going to do that!
