Barry Cook
HIGH POINT - Barry Dean "Curly" Cook, 63, of High Point, died Aug. 24, 2005, at High Point Regional Hospital.

He was born in Surry County on Dec. 13, 1941, son to Carl Clayton Cook and Allie Willard Cook. He retired as a service representative with Hatteras Yacht Co. after 41 years of service. He was reared in the High Point and Kernersville area. A lover of the outdoors, he was a competitive fisherman, and an avid golfer and an U. S. Coast Guard Licensed Boat Captain.

Surviving are his two daughters, Pamela R. Cook of High Point and Ginny Erin Triplett of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother, Allie Willard Cook of River Landing at Sandy Ridge, Colfax ; sisters, Carlene Rudd Smith and husband Elwood Smith of Elm City, Nancy Cook Maloney of Lexington; Linda Cook Welborn and husband, David Welborn of Kernersville; brother, Bobby Gray Cook and wife Carolyn of High Point; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Abbott's Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark O. Hollar officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point and at other times at the home of Barry Cook.

Active pallbearers will be Carroll Britt, Perry Driggers, Doug Langley, Robert Peterson, Tom Slane, and Lathey White.

Flowers will be accepted and donations may be given in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
