Hatteras Classic Club Rendezvous, Harbor East Marina, Baltimore , MD, Sept 7,8 & 9

Pretty much all set with the Rendezvous for this year. We have 9 boats attending unless the weather gets to be an issue from Tropical Storm Irma on the Chesapeake Bay. We have about 15 people staying in the Hilton Garden Suites where the meetings are being held.
A cocktail party on the docks starts everything off Wednesday night. Thursday morning at the hotel Kirk Sova from Tidewater Yacht Service will make a presentation at 9 am. At 10 am, John Murch will talk to us about the Garmin nautical equipment line. Pettitt Paint repre, George Dunagan will talk about paints. At 2 pm two Hatteras 53's, "City Girl" repowered with John Deere diesels and "Size Matters" will ferry us to Sagamore Distillery for a tour and tasting of their Rye products. Afterwards, Tidewater Yacht Service will host a cookout at their facility for our dinner.
Friday morning, Paul Hall from the Hatteras factory in New Bern will make a presentation about the differences between the manufacturing of our Classic Hatteras's and the new Hatteras's. Should be very interesting. After Paul's presentation, we might have a "surprise" presentation or we will have an "open forum" that were very popular in the past where members talked about things they have done to their boats or how they have tackled some of their "issues". Members also bring up problems or "issues" they have with their boats for input or advice from the members. At 4 pm there is another cocktail party on the docks. From there we will go to the National Aquarium for a tour of their fabulous facility. Saturday morning at 10 am we have the club's annual business meeting followed by lunch. Of course we return to the docks in the afternoon for a boat "open house" of some of the boats in attedance and, what else, cocktails. WE will leave there to have our group picture made for the year followed by the Farewell Dinner at Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Restaurant.

The costs for this year's annual rendezvous are $200 a head which includes the BYOB cocktail parties, the meeting room, lunch and the dinner at Roy's. This price is subsidized by the Club from our membership dues which are $125 per year. The club has a Florida rendezvous in the winter, newsletters 3 or 4 times a year and the usual expenses of a club. All work is performed by volunteers from the club. I know the question has been raised about if you have to be a member to attend and the answer is yes you do.
