No person or business is perfect. There are going to be product problems and I do not doubt that there can be disagreement with individual customers. And in this age of litigation, it would be hard to find a larger company that does not have a pending suit to deal with.
Now let me offer everyone my opinion of Hatteras. From my years in business, I learned quickly that the best measure of any company is how it responds to problems. In particular, problems that are marginal in nature and perhaps slightly out of warranty. For my money, Hatteras is the winner in the large production boat business, no competition. They even go the extra mile, when you have a 30 year old boat, and clearly represent no new sales opportunity. Living in the same community with many of their employees, I know these are good people that take exceptional pride in their work. And, yes I here stories from them about the balance between productivity requirements, and product quality. Every company has to find ways to increase productivity, Hatteras is no exception.
May I suggest that all the Hatteras owners on this forum, look at their boat, and decide if they are satisfied customers. Can you identify a better production boat, can you imagine better factory support, can you identify another brand that has a Sam's with all their resources and help. Folks, we have it good, very good.
