Hatteras 64 aft engine room

Hello all,
I am now considering a search for a 64 hatt aft engine room... late 70's early 80's appears to be the production window... also appears to be an early introduction of a V-Drive... all that said, I am looking for thoughts and wisdom concerning the 64... any experience? can you even get parts for the V-Drive?... appears only a few 64's were made... anyway... looking forward to thoughts from the group!

I think the V-drives were made by Walters, who I think are still in business.

Great layout and the boat runs well. Giant engine room. Only drawback is ladder access to ER.

I don't think they made many of them, did they? I'm pretty sure I've never actually been on one.

there is one for sale on marketplace listed in madisonville la. i dont know anything about the boat, just saw the ad.

I know every boat is a comprise, though a stand up ER access by a ladder loses the appeal for me.

It does have a nice layout, master must be quite under way.

Looked at the 64MY in Madisonville, LA. From the limited photos, it looks very good.

Thanks Jim... I went to the boat... it is clean and well cared for... no info on the "reman"... Liked the boat, but too high on price, and no documentation on reman... Ive moved on to a 78... looking for good surveyor in the jupiter... know any?
