HATTERAS YACHTS CONVERGE ON CAMBRIDGE, MARYLAND
Chances are you will be noticing more than a few Hatteras Yachts cruising the Chesapeake, September 9 – 12, 2010.
The Hatteras 1510 Club will be holding its annual owners rendezvous at the Cambridge Yacht Club on the Choptank River in Cambridge, Maryland.
The Hatteras1510 Club was formed in 2000 by a handful of dedicated owners of these classic vessels that are either 50’, 53’ or 58’ long and have a beam of 15’ 10” hence the clubs name. Over the years the club has grown from this handful of enthusiasts from the Chesapeake to a worldwide membership. Additionally you don’t have to own a Hatteras Yacht with a 1510 beam to be a member. In fact some members don’t have a Hatteras at all.
This years 10th annual rendezvous will kick off with a meet and greet reception Thursday evening. Friday attendees will take a day trip to St. Michaels followed by a dinner at Snappers Restaurant in Cambridge. Saturday will consist of presentations by sponsors of the event as well as restoration and maintenance tips by club members followed by the club’s annual meeting. Saturday afternoon is the famous open house of the yachts. This is a great opportunity to tour these classic vessels as well as meet the owners and get some ideas on upgrades and the like. Saturday evening attendees will enjoy a banquet at the Cambridge Yacht Club. Sunday the yachts depart Cambridge. Non members of the club are encouraged to attend the yacht open house Saturday at the docks from 2pm – 5pm at no cost. Members and non members alike are invited to attend the entire rendezvous at a cost of $125.00 per person.
Further information about the event, dockage rates and local hotels can be found at www.Hatteras1510club.com or by emailing johm.gray@GE.com or call 610-325-7039
