Gun Cay to Nothwest passage

Running over to Nassau from Haulover is there enough water from Cat Cay to the Northwest Channel
looks kinda skinny just east of Gun

Depends on your draft I do it all the time with a 6 1/2 draft but I do go slow (idle) for a couple of miles if the tide is low and adjust my timing if the tide is actually less than mlw

Lowest I ve ever seen is about 6.5' MLW about 3.5 nm east of cat cay, along the route suggested in explorer chart book. Over the years I ve tried a little north of that route but no difference.

The good news is that it s all soft sand, no coral heads or rocks

Went thru Spanish Wells on the way to harbor island a coue of weeks ago..

Cleared in cat at 9am them straight thru, got to SW in the evening running at a fuel saving 9kts
