Goofy Tachometer Readings

I have a 73/ 43ft with 6-71DDN. The lower station tachs read correctly with the engines turning 2000rpm on the lower station. The upper stations read 500 plus on the port and 500 minus starboard. What gives? Any ideas? At idle they read the same. Bill

Bad connections - the offset is how you know.

Clean up all the wiring between the two.....

I removed both tachs today cleaned all the connectons ,replaced a connector or two and found out that there is an adjustmemt on the tachometer.They both work great now. Thanks for the tips I thought I was going to have to buy new. Bill
