Well, the outlets on the port side of my saloon were dead, as were the outlets on the bridge and the overhead lights in the saloon. All breakers were fine. After about an hour or two of head scratching, and with an assist from Bruce Morrison, it turns out a GFI in the pilot house needed to be reset. I hope I remember if it happens again.

You're pretty smart. Same thing on my boat, but it look me longer. Mine was behind electrical panel accessible through the air filter on salon air handler. It now has a label in the panel box.

I encountered a similar issue on the first trip south. I found a GFI protected outlet on the aft deck was plugged with salt. I thought at the time that this was the last in line but as the entire port side was out, maybe it was first after the panel GFI breaker although if I recall correctly, simply pulling the breaker and temporarily taping off the wires brought the port side back to life..

Thanks for sharing. It hasn't happened to me yet, if it does it will now be the first thing I check.

What is a GFI please?

Ground Fault Interrupt...some of your outlets have a test/reset button..those are the GFI's
