Got out of long island sound yesterday , Went thru " Hells Gate " not much to it just some strong currents. Got down to sandy hook fueled up & got back on the water just before sun set.... Ran all night & made Cape May just before sunrise , I floated around a bit waiting on the sun to come up . No way I was brave enough to go into unknown inlet Pitch black. We ran From Stamford Ct. To Cape May NJ Seas weren't bad 1-2' , had some strong winds after 3am. Almost hit a blow boat running with no lights on......The XXXXer just kept coming....Right of way & all , So I Juiced up those Detriots & cut his bow and Left him bouncing.....haha. I hate blow boats......
Just barley beat the rain , it started to sprinkle as we got docked. It rained all day As I recovered from a long night at the helm . going to head out Thursday A M . Going to over night @ the marina on the C & D canal. Hope to be sliding down the Chesapeake Fri.
