My 1972 Quicksilver 7.5 kw unit finally bit the dust. Actually, I let it freeze last winter, (kicking myself). Antifreeze everywhere when it used to run. As it has been sitting for a season, it will no longer start. Marine Yard says they can get it running, but finding parts for cooling system is difficult at best. I rebuilt cooling system 5 years ago. Took me 3 months to track down all the parts, and still had to have some machined.... Thinking about replacement. Suggestions on what to put back? Unit will go into a 1972 36C (Gas). Can you get by with a smaller unit? Availability of used units? Thank you in advance for advise.
