generator fuel ?

i have 1979 43' dc ,does the fuel for the generator come from the tank that is feeding the engines or is one tank dedicated to generator right now running on keel any info would be appercited thanks

I'm no expert, but I would think it would be unlikely to have a tank just for the genny. The fuel use would be pretty lopsided for the tank sizes I'm guessing.
 
on our 1980 43dc the generator pulls fuel from the aft tank.
 
On my old 1976 43 DC the generator pulled from the same tank as the port engine. The boat had two tanks one on each side that filled from the aft corner of the boat.

I ve never seen a boat with a dedicated gen tank. On the 53 and its cousins the gen is fed from the forward tank which is bigger.

In doubt look at the fuel pick ups, the tank used by the gen should have an extra pick up and return
 
1979 DC here. Mine feeds from the aft tank. Pick up is high so you can’t run her dry.
