One of my three GM Head pumps had a rotor with severe electrolytic putting. It was acting like sandpaper and destroying stators. I ordered a replacement ($200) from GM and was surprised to find that it’s plastic instead of bronze. While I understand that the plastic will not degrade in saltwater, it just seems inferior. It’s not as smooth as the bronze and seems like it may also cause premature failure of stators. Is anyone else using a plastic rotor? How long do you go between stator changes? Debating if I should hold off on installation until I can source bronze.
