  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
1980 43DC has anyone had to access the blower motor for the galley hood vent? It looks like it may be behind the V-berth cabin hanging locker. Before I attack the inside of the locker, there is no visible access and looks like major surgery to get locker walls out. Thanks

I thought the same thing when I had to get behind the closet in my mid stateroom on the 53. But once I started removing screws and pieces, it all came out and I had complete access to everything back there. Hopefully yours will turn out the same way.

Thanks, but I have already looked at it a bit and the screws i too out didn't free up any of the panels they appear glued as well as screwed. look original to boat, all small square head screws.

Take pictures of what you do and find please. I’m in hull #510 and have some galley plans coming up soon. Thanks.

Seems like mine is in the cabinets in the galley above and next to the stove, but our boats are slightly different in this area.

Well a year later I got the galley exhaust fan fixed, it is accessible from the little cabinet above and to the right of the stove on the on the galley bulkhead, there is a small panel that once removed allows a midget that is well versed in the art of contortions to get to the blower. replaced a blown 1 amp fuse and all is good.

Glad you figured it out but my guess is you’re really bored, as am I. Thanks for some new material to read.
