Hatteras Model
48' MOTOR YACHT-Series I (1981 - 1984)
Well I finally got around to tearing up my foredeck to fix the wet core. It's a mess, but not as bad as I thought. Anyway, I have the GM windlass at my shop and it is available with the foot switch and the relays etc. It is a very large machine in excellent condition, however it does not have a wildcat. It can probably be converted at GM, but I decided to buy one of the new type that take rope and chain together. If anyone is interested please call me (732 991-5665). I would prefer someone fairly close to me (Central NJ, near the Sandy Hook area). We plan to do the Annapolis show at the end of the week and if anyone is interested we can put it in the SUV and take it there. Otherwise arrangements would need to be made for pickup. I think it's too heavy for UPS

I've got a wildcat for 1/4" chain for sale if someone needs it for Walter's GM windlass.

Even if you buy both the windlass and the wildcat, you will still need to have the longer shaft installed to accept both the wildcat and capstan. You will also need a new relay box to allow for reverse rotation as Walter's windlass only turns one direction.

Walt,
I'm planning to ditch my windlass for a rope/chain combo also. Do you mind me asking what new unit you settled on?
