  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
63' MOTOR YACHT (1985 - 1987)
I found a drawer full of 50 amp, bus, bayonett type fuses on my 1987 63' Hatteras... Do these go behind the panel boxes? I thought the breakers were all there was between the power and the circuit?? Help is appreciated? Thanks

There are fuses inside the boxes in each engine room. (the boxes with the battery switches).

What Sky said.

And note carefully -- parts of that panel are hot even with the switches OFF. Use extreme caution working in there; the wise person shuts the battery charger off and disconnects the batteries first.

Thanks for the info! I will heed your warming, selector to off, kill charger breaker, positive disconnected...thanks

The 50 amp spec leads me to ask, How big are these fuses? If opaque and closer to the size of a shotgun shell, they are for your shore power inlets, outside right next to the inlet in most cases. If they are the smaller, mostly clear glass, then as noted by Sky and Genesis. You should find some blade type ANL fuses in ER those boxes too.
