Yeah that’s cool. Only thing it has (their video) my RM ST1000 wireless remote doesn’t is the point and shoot, obviously. Wonder how easy it is for the minor 1-2 degree changes that make up the majority of navigation. I suspect it’s back to button pushing. Personally, I’ve never found estimating course changes that difficult. Also wonder about point and shoot on a rocking boat (they said it was small boat suitable). Video didn’t mention if remote displayed depth, XTE, etc. as on RM remote. I would hope so anyway. I’m no fan of Raymarine, btw. Their customer service is #1 a top industry’s worst. It’s what I have.

It's pretty cool but how would I use it on a sportfish comes to mind. It seems good for a smaller boat but maybe not for a big old hatt.

"Cool" always scare me when it comes to boat stuff.

All I need from an AP is to keep the boat on the heading i set. Nothing more. I don't need it or go to some WP, or followm a route. I ll set a course, just follow it

I don't need to impress the neighbors with cool crap

And I wont use the internet, cabke tv or cellphones. They re all too modern for me SAYS NOBODY.

"cool" for me is driving out during the day and dodging all the crab-pots while having the chart plotter record my path. Then return at night and have it follow the path back and not hit any pots. Welcome to 2003 tech, lol

Got three last month. One on purpose close aboard the marina; planned on doing bottom anyway. One that dipped a motor for a couple of seconds. And one I never knew I had after last cleaning. Two more and I’m an ace.

How cool is that? Thanks for sharing.

What's cooler is that I'm in the market for an autopilot, and it was going to be a furuno. Now I have to see how this 300 model compares to the 711.

Will it work on your boat.

Might not handle a type 2 pump.

Furuno just released the marketing stuff, no hard info or price is available yet.

Hey I sell furuno too just not very often. Its a special kind of customer that wants furuno.

Seriously though as much as it seems cool and innovative id not put all my eggs in their basket until i see it out for a few months and well supported.

I have a garmin support number thats answered in less than 1 minute most times.

I have a raymarine support number thats answered sometimes but more often I have to leave a message.

I have a furuno support number somewhere in the middle as is the simrad/Navico.

Business wise I see more Garmin than the others combined. If the new active captain app integrates as well as expected and the Navionics charts become part of the system I see them as hard to beat.

I've always had Furuno answer quickly during normal business hours. And I've yet to see Garmin equipment on a ship. Chevy vs Ford.

GARMIN is consumer based. Furuno has a large commercial division. Although the port fire department and a dod boat went Garmin
