  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
54' CONV -Series I (1991 - 1997)
Hello all, newby here.
I recently got out of a 53 Ocean and into a 1998 54 Hatt. There are two electric fuel priming pumps (one in front of each 12V92) and only one switch located on the DC elec box on the stbd side in the aft part of the engine room. Should that one switch activate both pt & stbd pump, or is the pt side switch hidden somewhere?
Any info is well appreciated.

Thanks, JJ.

Excellent question. Put your hand on the pumps and feel the power.....(or not). If that doesn't answer the question it's time to get the multi meter out.

FWIW - They may "run" but check that they actually MOVE fuel as per the following:

On our 53 the PO had priming pumps installed but the mechanic installed pumps suitable for water and the pumps didn't actually move any fuel when we bought the boat because the impellers had disintegrated in the diesel. I replaced them with FUEL pumps! :)
