Have an 1971 58YF with Detroit 8V71Ns. After having a fuel link leak and all of the lines replaced, the engines will not stay running.
Found lots of great articles on here, and one is that I need to double check all of the lines that were replaced to ensure they are sealed properly.
Another thought is that the pickup lines may be clogged, which I think is a bit odd on to happen on all three fuel tanks (the issue persists no matter which tank I select).
If I have to check the pickup lines, what is the proper method? I have large plates with screws and the lines on the top of each tank. Do you need to remove that entire plate or can you inspect the pickup line by removing the line by unscrewing the 90 elbow? I attached a pic, the forward tank is on the left hand side. I noticed that there seems to be some resin like coating on the plates and screws, so it seems to be best to remove that before trying to remove the plate, if needed. Any tips would be appreciated!
