I have 871TI's and noticed fuel smell. The fuel cooler has a split and was leaking fuel onto the manifold (not good) I took it off and there is a hair line crack. What might have caused that? and would that part be hard to track down?. I dont think welding it would be a good idear, seeing its location, or if that is even accaptable.. any thoughts ?

Buy a new one. Like all things, they can and do wear out.

I just replaced a fuel cooler on port 871, it had rotted at the hose connection. DD part no.5136348 $400 Stewart

I got the fuel cooler from Anderson Diesel Bradenton Fla. Fax 941 751 9311 Cell 941 720 2352 He told me it was DD part #5136348 from a supplyer. He did not supply the place . Thats why it cost me $400. The part # I got from the part .Cheers Stewart

You can get replacements from SenDure, Lenco and others.

Stewart,

Next time you need parts, go down to Sun State Trucks in sarasota by the airport. They can get all the Detroit parts in place of using someone else to supply parts. They are substantially less for parts and normally can get parts quick. I bet you would be suprised how many of the mechanics actaully go there to get their parts.

Thanks Pat Ill try there next time Stewart
