Ft. Myers area yard recomendations

I am thinking of taking my boat down to Ft Myers over Thanksgiving and would like the bottom painted. It would be nice to have that done at the same place I leave the boat. At christmas I will be back to use the boat and maybe leave it somewhere else. Is Owl Creek a reputable place? thanks in advance for your input.

This may be a bit to far north of where you want to be but these are very nice reliable folks. Cortez Cove Marina in Bradenton. It is a small facility, does excellent work at competitve pricing. Managers name is Arnold.

There are about six of us from various clubs in the area that use them year after year. We are always well satisified.

I had quite a bit of work done last summer at Gulf Marine Ways & Supply in Ft. myers Beach, 1148 Main Street, 33931, 239-463-6166, David Boddison. Found them to be pretty good, honest and they have a big travel lift. Whle I certainly had issues with some of the subs that worked on the boat, I had no issues with these folks. Just to give you an idea I paid them $9.00 per foot for haul out for a survey, $71.04 to pressure wash the bottom (55C) and their labor rate back then was $90.00 an hour. They were doing bottom jobs on a few boats in the yard while I was there and the work looked pretty good to me. Now I really have no idea who else is in the area or how anyone else might be evaluated.

Owl Creek is a great old style yard, you will need a car if you want to get to the stores etc otherwise you are kind of captive..last quote I got for the bottom was 13.00/ft, can't remember the paint type quoted...talk to "Butch" if going there, I was not to keen on the yard mgr, Butch is the owner and a neat guy...
