Hey guys just to give you warning, Randy is headed west on I-40 on his way back to Tennesee. I will let you know when it arrives so you can safely go out in public.
I talked the "Bird" (Randy) into bringing me one those new fangled safes with the electronic lock. It is one of the Cannon Safes. He gave me an excellent price and made delivery look simple. I have moved many safes during my military career and it was always a back breaking operation that took several strong people, a lot of lifting, grunting, cussing, and few mashed fingers. Randy pulled up with the safe on his aluminum trailer and I asked him how were "we" going to get an 800 lbs safe up the stairs with just me and him? He laughed and said this was a "light" one.
I was taken to school today. The safe was bolted down to a wood pallet, and Randy used a pallet jack to roll it off the trailer down the trailer ramp into my car port. We then used the trailer ramps to get up the the three steps to my door way off loading the safe from the pallet jack onto some PVC pipes. I was really just there for moral support, Randy did this by himself. I was amazed as he rolled this SAFE right in, spun it around and pushed it place with out a single bump or hiccup. That safe looked like it weight 10 lbs instead of 800 lbs! Randy made that safe dance at his fingertips. It was like watching a ballet. Not one mark on the floor either! I recalled all my previous bad experiences and how much trouble Randy's techniques would have saved us and felt down right stupid, LOL. I learned something in the process and it was fun to watch a professional at work.
We have had a rash of home invasions and break in's in our area recently. The crime wave looks like it is just beginning here. I am not worried about it if I am home, just when I am away. I have a few things that I am fond of and wanted better security for them, after several of my friends lost some things that were ir-replaceable I did not want to experience the same loss and decided now was the time to tighten up.
If anyone is considering purchasing a safe I can give you a glowing report on Southern Security Safes.
If you just want the low down on what to look for in a safe, there is a lot of good information on his website.
I am very pleased with the safe that Randy helped me select and his extensive knowledge was invaluable to help guide me to that end.
We had a good time, cooked some steaks and watched Tennessee whip up on Kentucky.
