Just remember that their claims for a 3W LED bulb replacing a 40W incandescent are far from factual. They claim their 240 Lumen bulb will replace a 40 W incandescent but a 40 W incandescent bulb produces a MINIMUM of 400 lumens. And I don't think anyone would call a 40W incandescent bulb very bright for reading or anything like that. IMO, a 60W incandescent would be about the minimum for most uses and they produce 800 lumens - So to me, the first useful bulb of that LED series might be the 9W at 720 lumens.

That is the link that was posted here a few weeks ago and the consensus was, as I recall it, that those bulbs were way too dim to be useful in our interior places where we’d like to have them, i.e. the showers, heads, staterooms, etc.

Also, I note that the manufacturer or seller advises that these bulbs should not be used in an enclosed fixture. Now, who wants a naked light bulb affixed to the ceiling in our boats? How unattractive that would be. I still don’t think we’re “there” yet in 32v. LED.

Heck, I don't think we're there yet in LED lighting for anything but flashlights! :) Last season I tried 4 different LED fixtures (dc and ac) to add some good lighting to the bow stateroom. I gave up and installed a circular "low profile, warm white" 120vac florescent fixture overhead, above the cabinet area. You don't even notice it's there when you walk in...until you turn on the wall switch.

Well, it was worth a shot. My biggest issue is finding bulbs that fit the recessed fixtures.

Im installing a full imtra led system in a boat for a customer. They are almost 6 watts per fixture and dimmable. Not for the faint of wallet though. About $12k for the whole yacht interior.

I'm looking at 32V to 12V power converters, many are available under $10, and there's a much better (and cheaper) selection ov 12V LEDs.
