Hatteras Model
53' CONVERTIBLE (1969 - 1980)
With all the goings and comings about forum use, I realized that anything we put in it has a definite "weight" and ties up bandwidht, so I decided to delete the pictures I had attached to posts that had been "dead" for a while.
Is this correct from the forum manners point of view?
I did that and then wanted to change the pictures in the Gallery, but I see how to upload, but not how to delete.
Also in the Private Message area if I want to attach a picture, all I get is a text saying .
Can somebody help?
Miguel

Miguel, thanks for emailing me the pics. Hopefully someone smarter than me can answer your questions. I've had problems in this area before too.

I hope nobody fusses at you for asking some of the same questions I did. More than that I hope somebody can give you answers to your questions to keep you from having to ask again.

I don't know what the heck to do about things like that myself, but it would be a shame not to share those pics with the rest of the membership, except of course for... never mind.

I told ya'll it might take some time, but I'm trying.

I had trouble getting pics into a post as well. At first, the only way I could do it was to upload them to my gallery and then link to them. Then Paul Starman posted the photobucket.com method. I have since just uploaded to photobucket and copied the link that they provide under each picture. That seems to work pretty well.

Mike,

it works the same in a PM as it does in a regular reply.

these brackets , without the spacing, are the img tags that allow pics to be posted.

[ I M G ] and at the end [ / I M G ]

sign up at photobucket, upload your pics there ( free and easy ) copy and past here, or in a reply.

Guys, maybe I'm just stupid, but I used the photobucket thing and my pics do disappearing acts from time to time.

I've asked questions about this before, but I still don't know what to do about this. I too would like to share more pictures especially of my SC to FL trip I plan to post tomorrow.

Can you guys fill me in either in public or through PMs?

Thanks

Randy,

If you remove a pic from photobucket, it will be removed from the site where posted.

Also make sure when you are linking the photo, you click on the bottom selection of the photo that has the "IMG" tags on it.

Thanks Paul, it's been a while since I've tried to post any pictures. I don't remember anything about "IMG" tags, but I'll take a look later this morning and see if I can make it work.

I've never removed a pic from photobucket, so that's not the problem.

Thanks for offering to help me and Miguel, some people you can always count on to be helpful. :)
