  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
65' CONV -Series I (1986 - 1998)
A friend has a Fortress FX 85 he wants to sell. Excellent condition looking for $600 + shipping. Located in Monmouth Beach NJ.

That's a big anchor. 60+ foot boat I'd guess.

These are great anchors. Light weight and great holding. I had one on a 46' Chris Craft.

You could indeed. You would need some serious chain and rode on it, too.

Jack is this still available?

Theres a downside to anchoring with chain. You take a lightweight anchor and add weight. Unless theres a rocky bottom id use all rope.

What's the downside? I have a friend with a 60C. He has an FX85 with all chain rode. He anchors out all summer. Never a problem and he's done it for over 10 years and in some pretty nasty storms where others have broken loose and damaged their boats and others in the same anchorage.

Sky, I think Scott was alluding to a "light" weight anchor with a heavy chain seemed to be a lot like ordering a triple whopper deluxe with extra fries and a diet coke.... lol

I use fortress anchors. Ecause I can lift them easily. Add chain and they're heavy again. That's why I call it a downside.

And for walt.

Here's what you get when you order like that.
