48' YACHT FISHERMAN (1972 - 1975)
Does anyone know what lies hidden under the 'seat' below the front windows on the above boats? Unless I remove the V-berth headlining I cannot see into it. I am considering a modification to the center window which is in serious need of refurbishment and I would like to remove or modify the seat? I am intrigued by a row of screws along the front of the seat and wondering what they hold?

See photosm front deck seat with text.webp

Many thanks,

It's hollow. I have seen mine from the inside when I had the cabinet above the stove opened up to replace a microwave that the PO had hacked into that space. The screws across the front outside could be from a canvas track or something that held seat cushions in place.

If I decide to change my stove to gas from electric, that space is where I plan to install a vapor proof locker for the gas cylinder.
