I am truly a novice when it comes to new technology...and need some help. My wife is into baking, and rather than her bringing the laptop into the kitchen and getting it covered in flour or whatever...does anyone know if there is a wireless monitor out there? I could mount it right on the wall in the kitchen.

If there is such a thing, I could spend some more time on the forum instead of switching over to her recipe websites.

Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason...Just but her a laptop. They all are wireless internet ready. Now just make sure you have a wireless router on your incoming modem. Now you both can work simultainiously.:)

Thanks, Maynard. She has a laptop, as do I, but she doesnt want it on the counter to collect whatever it is may fall on it (egg, flour, etc). I just thought it would be nice for her to have a monitor mounted on the wall that would display whatever she needed.

I'd invest in a call to Best Buy to start with, then Circuit City (they still in business?)..

P.s., if BB not help, drop a post note and I will call our network team and check further, better yet my son that does computer support for GM, including the wireliess stuff...

How about a tablet PC? Many of these have a keyboard for when you need it, which hides away when you don't want it.

Maybe all you need is a keyboard/monitor extender. I've seen them that will drive a video signal down Cat5 for quite a ways. You could connect it to her laptop and then just have a small flatscreen monitor, with a keyboard, in the galley. Sorry I can't give you any specific product names, but I suspect a google search with those kinds of keywords (monitor extension, etc...) will yield some results.

Jason...You have a monitor port on any laptop. If you buy a flat monitor and cable, you can put the monitor where she can see it and the laptop out of the "fling of flour" area. If she cooks too much you will get fat, but after meeting you, I doubt that is possible, so tell her topress on.:)

Get her a 20" iMac for the kitchen

Find an old "tube" monitor in the trash can (i've gotten 4 to date) and get a keyboard/mice for $10. Set the laptop in a safe place and she can trash the keyboard all she wants. You can often wash keyboards in the dishwasher BTW.

Total cost, CHEAP.

Hey Krush,

I think that this might be what you're lookin' for:

Go to pandigital.net and check out the whats new link. They have an hdtv/recipe/picture frame thingy.

Good luck,
Bruce.

Or you can do what I do. I print the recipe and don't care if it gets dirty because I can always print another one.

I do the same with my tech manuals and service manuals for the boats.
