Do you have contact info? Can't find him on member's lost though I've see many of his posts.

You hoo Dave!!!!

Maybe try a pm.

I sent him a pm.
Fingers crossed.

Thx

I will call you in the morning. I am about 120 mi north. See what I can come up with.

If Dave is too far away try Mike Muscente - Diesel Services - 941 391 0836. Good guy, Cat Specialists but worked on my 8V92's when I had them.

Is there such a thing as a qualified mechanic over there? For the size and scope of the boating area, it amazes me how difficult it is to find qualified anything in that area. Try a "full service" yard like Owl Creek Marina. They've got some very capable people there. For marine A/C work, I had an excellent experience with Bluewater Marine A/C out of Cape Coral Twice!

Thing about Dave he knows so much more about these boats than just the engines.

What he said.

You'd be hard pressed to find anybody who has a better handle on those engines (plus you get the boat and system knowledge in the bargain) not just in that area, but anywhere.

Kind of an arrogant statement. There are plenty of good people on this coast but the good ones stay busy and never need to advertise. I only take people that have been referred as do many others.
All that someone has to do is look at a well maintained and ask who does the work on it.

Thanks guys!! You made my day.

Problem solved and I want to thank the forum (and Dave) for the help.

There are a number of very able DTW mechanics on the west coast and in ft.myers but they are all booked solid. That was my problem but a local broker got a fellow to come to my aid just hours before Dave's recommended guy called.

From none to one too many!!

Again----thanks.

There are plenty and many are very honest and reasonable. I have a great mechanic here in NJ but wish I had a great overall boat tech like Dave. He is knowledgeable detail oriented and cares for the boats he works on more than most owners. To top it off his rate is very good. I'd be happy to pay much more than he charges for someone that was half as good as he is. I know of others in that area who I wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend.

I will second what Jack said regarding Dave
