My boat has a MMI-119 Central Alarm System. I’ve been getting an intermittent “Fwd Lower Level Fire” alarm along with enough noise to wake the dead.
Fwd Lower Level corresponds to a forward bilge area with Generators, HVAC and Isolation Transformers.
It “appears” that the alarm system sees the room via a Apex 180* sensor. Thinking this was the obvious culprit, I removed the sensor and grounded the wires together.
Slept well with a smug grin on my face while silently congratulating myself on my diagnostic acumen…. Until this morning, another intermittent alarm with the sensor removed from the loop, WTF!
Now I’m wondering if the MMI-110 is sick, new units are reasonably available but require programming. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I venture head first down this rabbit hole.
