FINALLY cleaning the bilge

After saying for the past 9 years "I need to clean the bilge" I actually began the work Friday......

It's now Monday and I figure I'm about maybe half way there....

OK, probably only 1/3. At least 1/4........Hoping for 1/8....

I should of bought stock in Tide for the amount I've gone thru, along with purple cleaner, scrub brush's and diesel diapers.

Luckily I bought 200 diapers 2 yrs ago for .45 cents each, including delivery by UPS..

I fugure another 5 long weekends and it'll be at least looking "fair"....

Just not sure I'll never not smell like diesel once I'm done...

Course I did not work full time.... Made an overnight trip Friday nite, would work 20 mins in the bilge, have a beer or two..... Go back for another 20 mins..... Watch TV...Have another beer or three.... You get the idea.

Short of the 20 minute intervals, that sounds a lot like your recipe for frying turkeys. Plan the work and work the plan. Next time you make a beer run, pick up a two pack of Mexicans and make things easier on yourself. Your bilge and your liver will thank you.

Acually I had been thinking of a couple of Vietnamese or Filipinos girls....

When we bought the boat, it had 1.5 completely blown motors... I paid $112,000, but the owner gave me a check back for $40,000.

Had both motors completely rebuilt, plus replaced both A/C units and a bunch of other things with the "rebate"...

There was about 1" of diesel/oil in the bilge at the time...... DID clean it "some" but never did the official cleaning.....
